AvantStay is seeking a reliable, experienced Maintenance Technician to support the day-to-day operations of our short-term rental portfolio, including Airbnb-style homes. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in keeping properties guest-ready, safe, and operating at a high standard.
As the go-to maintenance professional, you’ll be responsible for troubleshooting issues, completing repairs, and ensuring each property meets both company expectations and local compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine and preventive maintenance across multiple properties.
Diagnose and repair issues related to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, drywall, and carpentry.
Handle urgent maintenance requests to support active guest stays (including occasional after-hours/emergency calls).
Prepare units for incoming guests by ensuring everything is fully functional and in excellent condition.
Complete general home improvement tasks (painting, fixture replacement, minor renovations, etc.).
Inspect properties and grounds for safety, cleanliness, and operational readiness.
Coordinate with and oversee third-party vendors when needed.
Manage work orders, track maintenance schedules, and assist with purchase orders for supplies and parts.
Support turnovers by addressing maintenance-related items flagged by cleaning or operations teams.
Qualifications:
3–5+ years of experience in general property maintenance (hospitality or short-term rentals a plus).
Strong working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and general repair work.
Experience working in Airbnb, vacation rentals, hotels, or multi-unit properties preferred.
Ability to troubleshoot issues independently and respond quickly in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Organized, detail-oriented, and dependable.
Valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance required.
Must live within a reasonable driving distance of assigned properties.
