#225 American Anvil
American Anvils were a fairly rare American made anvil. They were made in Brooklyn, NY, between 1899 and 1911 from the information I could gather. Former employees of Hay Budden opened the American Anvil factory in the same area of Brooklyn as Hay Budden and made similar anvils. I believe this anvil to be 225 pounds judging by the measurements. The angle iron stand was on it when I purchased it around 30 years ago. It doesn’t appear to be welded on, just stuck in place. Since the height was good for me I left it on. You can only see the last few letters of he American stamp and the oval. This anvil was probably repaired by a previous owner, I don’t know how they did it but I’ve had no problems with it
